Socializing Your Puppy

by K9 Kingdom on November 22, 2010

Socializing your puppy can be difficult, especially in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where the weather does not always cooperate and allow us to take our dogs out and about.
Puppyhood is a crucial time for dogs to socialize with other dogs and humans in a safe, controlled enviornment. It is important that socialization is a positive experience when dogs are young. This greatly influences how they will act and react towards himans and other dogs as they get older. It teaches your puppy what is appropriate dog canine body language. Learning good behaviors when they are young, helps reinforce good behaviors as they grow older and larger.  Supervised group play helps dogs socialize with different breeds and play styles of other dogs.

K9 Kingdom has a great solution this winter: The Puppy Social Club!  This special 3 week training/socialization class located in our indoor facilty will give your puppy the opportunity to play with other puppies and learn basic cues and management techniques.
Unlike many public dog parks, K9 Kingdom supervises all play to ensure that the experiences are good, creating a confident happy puppy.  In between play time, puppies learn cues and commands to create a well behaved dog, making learning fun.  K9 Kingdom also requires all dogs to be current on vaccinations, reducing the risk of puppy illnesses such as parvo, that can be caught at public parks.

Class sessions run every Thursday beginning December 2nd.  Reserve your spot now!

K9 Kingdom is located at 155 Lake Drive in Wexford, Pennsylvania, just off Route 19, north of the Wexford plaza.

Absolutely really great website by the way, and really enjoy reading your new blog. I totally agree, I own two dogs myself, and socializing is key, my dogs definitely should have attended your Puppy Social Club, back when they were puppies. Socializing is absolutely invaluable, it is embarrassing to go out on walks, if another dog approaches, I have to pull my two snarling dogs away from it by leash. I feel bad for them too, always unnecessarily trying to attack the other dogs when they could be having a good tail wag and bum sniff, meeting a new friend. I see your dog boarding kennel is listed on KennelSeek.com where you can review kennels. As a pet owner, I really love social media, it is so reassuring when choosing a new kennel to see other pet owners rave about their and their dog’s experience with a boarding kennel. I would encourage your clients to share their experiences with your kennel by visiting our site.
