Teach your dog to ride a bike, our newest training trick

by K9 Kingdom on April 1, 2011

We love teaching your dogs new things. Biking is an excellent exercise option, that really will work and define your dog’s calves and glutes and strengthens the core. This low impact workout is ideal even for dogs with arthritis. Recently, groups (or packs) are forming teams to bike competitively.

Imagine taking a scenic cruise on your bike without having to leave your best friend behind. Check out one of our day care regulars after just one session!

I love that trick! I love the idea! I’ve been trying to figure out this trick for a while. How did you teach that? I’d love an answer!

We’ll be thrilled to see any pics you have! Shamelessly, this was just a funny picture we found online and wanted to share!

I haven’t actually figured out how to teach it to my dog, Harper. I saw it on TV and thought that it was super cool, and wanted for her to learn it. I did some online research, and I saw your link, and found this! I just purchased a baby bike at a Tag Sale, since Harpie isn’t to big, and that’s when I dug deeper in it. Sorry for the confusion! :D

You found us out – this was actually an April Fool’s joke! We dated the blog to try to drop a hint, but I realize you’re not really expecting an April Fool’s joke when you come across the post randomly another time of the year! Looks like the joke’s on us though SurfsUpPup! Send your progress updates as you work on training Harper! We’d love to see it!

Hahaha! That’s a good one! For now, Harper is working on the scooter, I hope that than we get her on the bike easier.

Did you actually teach it, or is it just an idea? I can get my pup to put her paws up on the handle bar, but not actually sit on it. :D
